The ex-UP steam crane and tender was sold to a scrap dealer in the late 1970s and has remained here in the scrap yard ever since. It's currently for sale. The tender's UP no. is 900489. |

This very old steam powered snow blowert and appeared abandoned on a siding. They were originally built with steam power but later rebuilt to power the blower with diesel motors. Number: MW ? - Railroad: Southern Pacific - Status: Abandoned? Location: Chiloquin, OR - Type: Snow Plow Photo date: 5/2004 - Build Date: 5/1953 - Retired: ? This old winged snow plow was attached to the above rotary snow blower, although I don't think this would not be a normal configuration if the two were actually in use. It's not clear if this unit is abandoned as well. A plate on it indicated that it was built in 1953. Both units may in fact be simply in off season storage. |

It appears to be some kind of grade brush clearing equipment. No further information available. |

Photo date: 5/2004 - Build Date: ? - Retired: n/a This appears to be some kind of track alignment machine, from what I could guess. It's equipment with large equipment and some kind of laser sensors. Markings indicate that it used to be owned by the Southern Pacific. |

But after I saw this picture, I knew it was a snow plow used over the Cascade summit. More pictures can be found here. |

It's usually towed behind a diesel locomotive to clear ice between the rails. It's not clear if this equipment is still in service. I'm not sure, it appears to be steam operated, which put it's age at very likely pre-WW2. |
Number: 913 - Railroad: BYCX - Status: Active Location: Astoria, OR - Type: Jackson Switch Tamper Photo date: 7/2004 - Build Date: ? - Retired: n/a This piece of equipment belonged to the Port of Vancouver, until it was sold to the BYCX (Battle Ground, Yacolt & Chelatchie Prairie Railroad) in 2002. I spotted it in Astoria working on the Astoria Riverfront Trolley line, in 2004. I assume it's just on loan to the Astoria Trolley. |
Number: 0008 - Railroad: Port of Tillamook Bay - Status: Active Location: Buxon, OR - Type: Daewoo excavator and 90 ton flatcar Photo date: 7/2004 - Build Date: ? - Retired: n/a This is actually an excavator used by the POTB for logging along it's line. It's usually equipped with several logging cars and 1140 caboose and pulled by an SD-9. It's normally stored out of Buxton, where I've seen it a number of times over the last few years. |

This Caboose was equipped with a regular train horn and I believe remote brakes to allow the caboose and conductorr to lead the train. |

Photo date: 10/2004 - Build Date: ? - Retired: n/a This appears to be an ex-Simpson Logging Fire pump car that the POTB purchased and may plan to use. It was towed behind Simpson Locomotive # 900 during the fire season before much of the Simpson mainline was abandoned in the early 1990s.
