Number:  ? - RR:  CORP -   Status: Abandoned on a siding
Location:  Canary, OR - Type:  Baggage Car
Photo date: 8/2004 - Build Date: ?  Retired: ?

This ex-Southern Pacific Baggage car was spotted on a siding on the Coos Bay
branch of the Central Oregon Pacific (formerly Southern Pacific) lines.  The car was
parked here within a 1/2 mile of two railroad tunnels, to serve as a maintenance
storage shed.  But it's no longer used for that purpose and is clearly abandoned.
Check out my
CORP page for more pics and info.
Number:  ? - RR:  POTB -   Status: Active
Location:  Tillamook, OR - Type:  Passenger Car
Photo date: 10/2004 - Build Date: ?  Retired: n/a

A passenger car used by the Port of Tillamook Bay.   It was spotted at the POTB
railyard.   Check out my

Number:  ? - RR:  Southern Pacific -   Status: Abandoned
Location:  Reedsport, OR - Type:  Truck trailer
Photo date: 8/2004 - Build Date: ?  Retired: n/a

I found this abandoned trailer in a field in Reedsport, near the ex-Southern Pacific
railroad, which is now operated by the
Central Oregon and Pacific.   The trailer had
faded Southern Pacific logos all over it, but I have no idea what it's history is.
Number:  ? - RR: SP&S -  Status: Stored
Location: Astoria, OR - Type:  Passenger Car
Photo date: 4/2004 - Build Date: 1915  Retired: n/a

This passenger car served Astoria, Oregon until about 1918, when it was used on
the Spokane, Portland and Seattle mainline.  Today it's stored in Astoria once again
with the hope that it return to passenger service behind a steam engine that being
restored.  Check out my
Astoria Trolley Page.
Number:  ? - RR: SP&S -  Status: Under restoration/display
Location: Avery, ID - Type:  Passenger Car
Photo date: 8/2004 - Build Date: ?  Retired: ?

I'm not sure of the history of railroad passenger car, but it's currently on display next
to the historic depot in Avery, Idaho.  Today the railroad that ran through here has
been abandoned since 1987.  Check out
this page for more pics and info.
Number:  ? - RR: CORP -  Status: Storage
Location: Coos Bay, OR - Type:  Baggage Car
Photo date: 11/2004 - Build Date: ?  Retired: ?

I'm not sure of the history of this car.  It appears to be an ex-Southern Pacific
baggage car.   It's now located in the
CORP owned Coos Bay Railyard, where it looks
like it's been for a long time.

Number:  ? - RR: ex-SP now private -  Status: Storage

This ex-SP MoW car, and presumably a former baggage car is now owned by
George Lavacot and stored at his former WVR shops in Indedepence.
Number:  ? - RR: private -  Status: Storage
Location: Independence, OR - Type:  oil tank car
Photo date: 4/2005 - Build Date: ?  Retired: ?

This appears to be a very old fuel oil car in storage at George Lavacot's Indepedence
shops.  Generally these cars were used to fuel steam locomotives in remote
locations, such as logging operations.
Number:  ? - RR: City of Prineville -  Status: Storage
Location: Prineville, OR - Type:  camp car
Photo date: 4/2005 - Build Date: ?  Retired: ?

This old box car, converted into a MoW camp car is now in storage on
the City of Prineville Ry.  The car is now empty but presumably had beds and
equipment for men working in remote sections of a railroad.
Number:  ? - RR: Northern Pacific -  Status: Abandoned
Location: Cottage Grove, OR - Type:  box car
Photo date: 1/2005 - Build Date: ?  Retired: ?

This old wood boxcar used to belong to the Northern Pacific.  It's now abandoned on
the old RoW of the Oregon Pacific & Eastern.  To learn more, check out my
Oregon Pacific & Eastern Page.
Number:  WANX 523 - RR: POTB-  Status: active
Location: Buxton, OR - Type:  converted MoW car?
Photo date: 4/2006 - Build Date: ?  Retired: n/a

I'm not exactly sure what this ex-passenger car is used for, but its been seen most
commonly at Buxton, along with the POTB's timber reload equipment.   I assume its
used to store equipment.
Number:  973 & 826 - RR: NCBX-  Status: Storage
Location: Portland, OR - Type:  passenger cars
Photo date: 4/2006 - Build Date: ?  Retired: ?

These privately owned former Northern Pacific passenger cars are now in storage in
a small BNSF yard in Northwest Portland.  Unfortunately, car # 826 appears to have
been recently burned by vandals and the interior was completely destroyed.
If anyone has any further information on any of the above pictured cars that you'd like to share, you
