This ex-Southern Pacific Baggage car was spotted on a siding on the Coos Bay branch of the Central Oregon Pacific (formerly Southern Pacific) lines. The car was parked here within a 1/2 mile of two railroad tunnels, to serve as a maintenance storage shed. But it's no longer used for that purpose and is clearly abandoned. Retired: n/a I found this abandoned trailer in a field in Reedsport, near the ex-Southern Pacific railroad, which is now operated by the Central Oregon and Pacific. The trailer had faded Southern Pacific logos all over it, but I have no idea what it's history is. |
Number: ? - RR: SP&S - Status: Stored Location: Astoria, OR - Type: Passenger Car Photo date: 4/2004 - Build Date: 1915 Retired: n/a This passenger car served Astoria, Oregon until about 1918, when it was used on the Spokane, Portland and Seattle mainline. Today it's stored in Astoria once again with the hope that it return to passenger service behind a steam engine that being restored. Check out my Astoria Trolley Page. |

I'm not sure of the history of railroad passenger car, but it's currently on display next to the historic depot in Avery, Idaho. This appears to be a very old fuel oil car in storage at George Lavacot's Indepedence shops. Generally these cars were used to fuel steam locomotives in remote locations, such as logging operations. |

This old box car, converted into a MoW camp car is now in storage on the City of Prineville Ry. The car is now empty but presumably had beds and equipment for men working in remote sections of a railroad. |

Retired: n/a I'm not exactly sure what this ex-passenger car is used for, but its been seen most commonly at Buxton, along with the POTB's timber reload equipment. I assume its used to store equipment. |

These privately owned former Northern Pacific passenger cars are now in storage in a small BNSF yard in Northwest Portland. Unfortunately, car # 826 appears to have been recently burned by vandals and the interior was completely destroyed. |
