This loco was backing up a very long train of what appeared to be maintenance
cars that are used to store rail and ties, near Chemult, OR.  It too, was also likely
rebuilt recently.  I actually have a video of this train on my
Railroad Videos Page.
Number:  4703 - Railroad:  Union Pacific -   Status:  Active

This diesel was parked at the Oakridge yard, with a full loaded of mixed cars.  I'm
guessing it was waiting for a passing train, because not long after this picture was
taken, the above train (4703) came whizzing by in the opposite direction.

These are a pair of neat looking SW1500s.  I've seen these switchers around UP
yards in Portland and occasionally on the mainline within the Portland Metro area.
1128 was actually built in 1969, while 1152 was built in 1971.   These are
ex-Southern Pacific units that were aquired during the merger.

3491 is an older SD40 that was later converted for high speed (80 mph).   It's
leading this consist with a much newer SD70M behind it.  They were spotted near
Chemult, Oregon, pushing a long MOW train of empty rail cars backwards onto a
siding.   I have video on this train on my
Railroad Videos Page.

A fast moving freight is heading east into Springfield, just after it crossed the
